OP returned to Chambers Park on Friday night to take on Ards/Donaghadee/ Hinch for the 3rd time this season in the plate quarter final.
OP came out of the blocks with intend, scoring 2 tries in the first 10 minutes. Our opposition however didn’t take this lying down and brought the game to us with the half finishing 19-10.
On the restart Ards/Donaghadee/Hinch came out fighting to bring the score to 19-17, game on. The next 20 minutes was a battle for both sides, with fantastic rugby on show. OPs patience finally paid of with another try out wide taking us to 24-17. The battle resumed on the restart, but a penalty to OP turned fortunes, with Ards/Dee/Hinch marched back an additional 10 for back chatting the ref. The girls battled to the opposition 22, where our patience was finally rewarded in the dying seconds of the game with a try beside the posts, which was comfortably converted. Final score 31-17.
The girls will be playing in the semi final against Ballymoney next weekend in Omagh. Details to follow
