Portadown capitalised on the one man advantage and Drew Flack scored Portadowns first try in the corner. Next up on the score sheet was captain Michael Orr finishing off an excellent backs move. Converted by Brandon Gribben. Bangor then responded with a pick and go try after some strong forwards play. Just before half time a quick tap penalty that caught Bangor sleeping and allowed Marshall Clint to finish in the corner.

Portadown got a penalty early in the 2nd half 40 meters out from the Bangor post. Brandon Gribben slotted an excellent kick to put the score to 10-20. As the 2nd half went on Portadown began to dominate and a brilliant break down the wing from debutant Carter Thompson allowed him to put Michael Orr in the corner for his 2nd try of the game. A fumbled lineout ball on the Bangor line allowed replacement hooker Rhys Heasty to crash over the try line to extend the score to 10-34. A kick deep into the Bangor half was then fumbled by the Bangor full back to allow none other than Michael Orr to dive on the loose ball to secure his hat-trick. The final score of the game came from James Wright who crashed over from close range.
