RESULT Women’s 1st XV Semi Final

Sunday 26th January

Yesterday, the PRFC Women hosted Rainey in the Shield semi-final. Despite challenging conditions, Portadown held their ground and delivered an impressive defensive performance with some fantastic tackles from the team. At halftime, the score remained 0-0, thanks to their relentless effort.

The second half saw the girls continuing their solid defense, with notable breaks from Jen, Hannah, Az, Cassie, and Jill. Unfortunately, Rainey managed to break through, scoring two tries and ending the game 10-0.

The team showed incredible determination and resilience despite the tough conditions. The coaches faced a difficult decision in selecting Player of the Match, as every player gave their all. However, Jennifer McCall stood out with her outstanding tackles, superb defensive play, and consistent improvement each game. Well done, Jen!

A huge congratulations to all the girls in blue—you put in a fantastic effort!

The team will take on Coleraine next on February 9, 2025, at Coleraine RFC. Let’s all come out to show our support!
