Portadown Rugby Football Club has long tradition of touring throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe and
With our first major overseas tour being the Centenary tour to North America in 1979, the club has
continued to expand our rugby experiences, visiting countries near and far as often as possible. We
can perhaps lay claim to the longest continual touring fixture in world rugby through our relationship
with Rugby Club Orleans in France. In 2019 this tour celebrated its 40 th year when Orleans visited.
We’ve been to France, Holland, England, Scotland and Wales. We also made it to the USA, Canada
and even Egypt. In 2022 a tour is planned to visit our old friends at Portland RFC in the USA. Keep an
eye out for that one.
Rugby tours are special, they create experiences that will never be forgotten and bonds that will
never be broken. You’ll strike up friendships in other clubs around the world that will never be
forgotten. Oh, and the laughing. You’ll laugh and laugh for years about stories that seem to get
funnier every time they are told. To the uninitiated, it always one of those ones where you had to
have been there to get the joke.
Keep an eye on the website for details of the next tour. The more the merrier!
