Match Report and Photos- 12/6/21

Saturday afternoon brought the visit of Clogher Valley Under 21s to Chamber’s Park to take on Portadown Under 21s in the home team’s final Under 21s fixture.

The weather was perfect for a game of rugby between the two sides, with both sides looking to continue their good form entering the game, with Portadown looking to go 3 out of 3 in their fixtures, after beating both Enniskillen and Ballyclare in the previous weeks.

Portadown played well, with the team attacking well, and defending well, it was obvious the hard work that they had been putting in over the last 5 weeks with the Senior coaches. Points were going back and forth between the teams and tries from Drew Flack, Joe Orr and  Brett Flack were highlights of the game.

In the second half, Clogher and Portadown continued to keep the pressure on each other, but as the half went on, Clogher were able to pull away from Portadown, with a number of unanswered points. Despite this, Portadown continued to bring the game to Clogher and never gave up.

The final score was left at 17-42 in favour to the visitors, but it was another committed and encouraging display from the young boys in blue, which will leave the Senior Coaches with some headaches next year once preseason kicks off.
